Historical Gastown and Chinatown are both worth a visit, as well as the Sea Village, a single-family, house-boat settlement at Granville Island. Over a hundred parks and gardens provide much greenery and recreation spaces. Vancouverites take a lot of pride in their Stanley Park, with its pristine forested are located on large peninsula. The park is popular with locals and visitors alike. If you like to relax while strolling through the city-centre, Robson Street, the famous pedestrian area of boutiques, cafés, and restaurants, will serve you well. When it comes to eating out, Vancouver has earned its name as a gourmet hot-spot. But also the theatres, cinemas, museums, and concert venues are impressive. The city’s charm has attracted thousands of immigrants from all over the world, giving Vancouver its multicultural character. A number of islands are close by, the largest of them being Vancouver Island. To get there you need to take a ferry, an easy trip from the mainland. Its main city, Victoria, has retained its British flair and is definitely worth a visit. In the winter, the local snow-covered mountains of Vancouver are a tempting sight: It is truly a city where boredom does not exist.
