There are few people who have not seen the crazy car chases from the television series “The Streets of San Francisco”. The sharply sloping streets and red cable cars are just as much a part of “Frisco”, as its liberally progressive inhabitants or the enjoyable quality of life.
BETWEEN HILLS AND THE GOLDEN GATE
This port city is built on a peninsula and is therefore surrounded on three sides by water and has a powerful draw to people; San Francisco has a unique charm. The more than 40 hills on which the city was built offer gorgeous views of the city and, to a point, give the city an almost town-like character. Standing from the Coit Tower on the Telegraph Hill, the whole city lies at your feet, and from the Twin Peaks, a person can get an overview of all of San Francisco Bay, including an impressive view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the former island prison of Alcatraz. Quality of live is a top priority. This basic principle is shown in the high number of restaurants per capita in San Francisco. However, this is not the only attraction. The city also attracts many street artists, who put on their very best in the newly renovated waterfront area. Concerts, art galleries, charming cafés, and quaint bars round out the range of cultural possibilities.
